" A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one's neighbor - such is my idea of happiness." - Leo Tolstoy

About Me
My name is Courtney, my maiden name Foret is French for Forest. I have always thought, what a beautiful intertwining of two of my heritages, French & Native American. Nature and family have always been at the center of my life. I grew up in a fisherman's town, learning the secrets of the water and tales of the forest. My grandmother taught me her ways around a garden. My mother on how to be sweet in and out of the kitchen. As time went on I learned to interpret the food I grew up loving into healthier just as delicious meals. I fell in love with learning the healing and nourishing properties of what the earth gave so freely.

My family is my everything. I have an adoring husband, we have a beautiful baby girl, and our mini dachshund and labrador are our shadows. This past year my little but growing family decided we wanted to establish roots in the country. A slower calmer way of living allowing room for our children to be wild and free in nature. I hope you feel at home here as I share with you our life in the country, wholesome recipes made to nourish, maybe some that are to indulge occasionally or regularly (whichever you prefer), and anything else I sprinkle in this mix is for you my reader and my family, Enjoy.
With love,
Courtney
